When to Seal Pavers in Southwest Florida

Updated 2026-08 · Cape Coral, FL

The window

October through April. That is when Southwest Florida is dry enough and calm enough for sealer to cure the way the manufacturer intended. February and March are the sweet spot — low humidity, stable temperatures, and enough consecutive dry days to plan around.

Why summer does not work

Sealer needs the paver dry going on and dry while it cures. From June to September, Cape Coral gets afternoon storms most days, and even a clear day carries humidity high enough to slow the cure. Seal a damp paver and moisture gets trapped under the film: that is the white haze people ask about, and fixing it usually means stripping the sealer rather than adding another coat.

The demand pattern says the same thing

Search interest for paver sealing in Cape Coral runs roughly eighty times higher in March than in September. That is not a marketing artefact — it is homeowners and contractors both working around the same weather. If you are calling in August, you are early rather than late, and early is a good place to be: the dry-season calendar fills up.

What to do in the off season

Cleaning and re-sanding are far less weather-dependent than sealing, and they are the parts that actually protect the driveway. Getting those done in the summer and scheduling the seal for the first reliable dry stretch is the sensible sequence, and it usually means a better slot than calling in February with everyone else.
